MY SERVICES

INITIAL ASSESSMENT CONSULTATION
The first step in helping your dog to be comfortable with being home alone is to determine what they can currently do without feeling anxious. Once we know that, we'll make a plan so they can start feeling better at longer durations and YOU can get some freedom back.

During this call we will also review what it takes to make home alone training successful. This consultation can be done as part of the Getting Started plan or as a stand alone service.

HOME ALONE TRAINING PLANS
A huge part of stopping the overwhelm when it comes to helping your dog overcome separation-related behaviors is having a plan. This is where I come in!

I will provide you with access to an easy to use app with training plans customized to your dog, tracking, and my feedback.

With your dedication and my expertise, we can do this!

CONSULTATIONS AS NEEDED
Whether you feel like you have hit an obstacle that you would like direction and support overcoming, you need some reassurance, you want to have a planning meeting, or a little bit or each or something else entirely, I am available for 30 minute and one hour consultation sessions.

REVIEW TRAINING VIDEOS
Most people can spot when their dog is really anxious, but miss more subtle signs of anxiety. The benefit of me being your second set of eyes is that I can help you see those precursors of anxiety and adjust the training plans to keep your dog successful.
This coaching can allow you to become a pro at reading your own dog!

After you have completed the Getting Started package or had an Initial Consultation with me, there are several Next Steps options to choose from.
These packages are meant to be flexible and give YOU the support that will be most meaningful.
If you are not sure, reach out and we can discuss what would be best for you and your dog moving forward.

GROUP COACHING OPTION WITH A LOT OF VALUE
If you are looking for a more affordable option or prefer a group setting, my mentor Julie Naismith, offers excellent group coaching with the Separation Anxiety Heroes. I am part of the support team so I will see you there!

If you join the Heroes group and would like additional support getting started or overcoming a roadblock down the line, I am available for one-to-one consultations. This option allows you to combine the benefits of group coaching (lower cost, support group, accountability) with more specialized care.
YOUR QUESTIONS, ANSWERED
WHY ARE YOU NAMED FOCUSED FUN?
I started with general, fun, relationship-based training for dogs and their people, but then found my niche with separation related behaviors.

So while, 'Focused Fun' isn't as suitable to home alone training, I do try to keep things relationship-based and as fun as possible.
WHAT IS THE HARDEST PART OF HOME ALONE TRAINING?
That can depend on your specific case, but for many it is managing absences. Another challenging part of home alone training is that, like all learning, it is not a straight line. The ups and downs, while normal, are taxing for many.
HOW IS THE HOME ALONE & HAPPY PLAN DIFFERENT THAN WHAT OTHER TRAINERS OFFER?
My approach is a science-based, streamlined, and easy to follow plan along with all the support and cheerleading you could want.
WHAT IS YOUR SERVICE AREA? DO YOU NEED TO SEE MY DOG IN PERSON?
Service areas don't really apply to home alone training. With separation related behaviors, all of the training can be done remotely! In fact, having a trainer in your home can actually get in the way. Remote training allows for flexibility in support and scheduling.
HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE FOR MY DOG TO BE OK WHILE HOME ALONE?
Unfortunately, there is just no way to predict how long it will take for your dog to overcome separation anxiety. There are just too many factors to consider! We do know that the protocol I’ll be showing you has the best chance of success. The biggest factor in your dogs overcoming separation anxiety is actually you!
WILL THIS TRAINING WORK FOR MY DOG?
There are no guarantees when it comes to behavior change. However, the method I use is based on the science of how we change dogs’ emotions and has helped so many dogs of all ages and breeds.
