Let's Get Started!
The first step in helping your dog to be comfortable with being home alone is to determine what they can currently do without feeling anxious. Once we know that, we'll make a plan so they can start feeling better at longer durations and YOU can get some freedom back.
HOME ALONE TRAINING PLANS
Training plans to help your dog be comfortable while home alone.
A huge part of stopping the overwhelm when it comes to helping your dog overcome separation-related behaviors is having a plan! This is where I come in!
Every week I will provide you with training plans customized to your dog. I will review how they do on the plans based on your comments and any videos you provide.
With your dedication and my expertise, we can do this!
WEEKLY SUPPORT VIDEO CALLS
Let's connect weekly to make sure you have all the support you need!
Weekly check-in calls to give you time to ask any questions you may have, review plans from the past week and formulate plans for the upcoming week. These will last about a half hour.
PRACTICALLY PROFESSIONAL CHEERLEADING
You don't have to do this alone!
Having a dog with separation-related behaviors can feel really isolating, but it doesn't have to be!
Let me share the load! I'll be along side you to celebrate, coach, motivate, and lift you up when you are feeling down.
Which plan works for you?
HOME ALONE & HAPPY INTENSIVE
This plan includes:
- initial assessment
- home alone training plans
- weekly support video calls
- practically professional cheerleading
It is perfect for those who are getting started, who would like more support through the process of helping their dog over separation anxiety, or have more complex cases.
This is available in 4 or 8 week packages
HOME ALONE & HAPPY NEXT STEPS
After you have completed an intensive package with me, we can discuss how I can best support you and your dog moving forward. Think of this Next Steps plan as a buffet where you select the parts of the package that most support YOU.
This plan offers a 'lighter touch' and is suitable if you are well into your home alone training, are especially savvy, or prefer less contact with your trainer :)
YOUR QUESTIONS, ANSWERED
WHY ARE YOU NAMED FOCUSED FUN?
I started with general, fun, relationship-based training for dogs and their people, but then found my niche with separation related behaviors.
So while, 'Focused Fun' isn't as suitable to home alone training, I do try to keep things relationship-based and as fun as possible.
WHAT IS THE HARDEST PART OF HOME ALONE TRAINING?
That can depend on your specific case, but for many it is managing absences. Another challenging part of home alone training is that, like all learning, it is not a straight line. The ups and downs, while normal, are taxing for many.
HOW IS THE HOME ALONE & HAPPY PLAN DIFFERENT THAN WHAT OTHER TRAINERS OFFER?
My approach is a science-based, streamlined, and easy to follow plan along with all the support and cheerleading you could want.
WHAT IS YOUR SERVICE AREA? DO YOU NEED TO SEE MY DOG IN PERSON?
Service areas don't really apply to home alone training. With separation related behaviors, all of the training can be done remotely! In fact, having a trainer in your home can actually get in the way. Remote training allows for flexibility in support and scheduling.
HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE FOR MY DOG TO BE OK WHILE HOME ALONE?
Unfortunately, there is just no way to predict how long it will take for your dog to overcome separation anxiety. There are just too many factors to consider! We do know that the protocol I’ll be showing you has the best chance of success. The biggest factor in your dogs overcoming separation anxiety is actually you!
WILL THIS TRAINING WORK FOR MY DOG?
There are no guarantees when it comes to behavior change. However, the method I use is based on the science of how we change dogs’ emotions and has helped so many dogs of all ages and breeds.
